Southwest Airlines is in trouble. After it went Woke, many of its employees have begun to speak out against the Dallas-based airline for choosing Wokeness over employee safety.
One Southwest flight attendant, a Hispanic female, recently said: “They are compromising safety for the sake of race, gender identity, and sexual preference…They’re risking people’s lives because of agendas.” This lack of concern for employee safety has even culminated in a picket line at the Atlanta Airport, the busiest airport in the world.
Such a public display of animosity, while not unusual for Woke airlines, shows that Southwest Airlines employees are not happy with their employer.
Bluntly stated: Southwest sacrifices its employees on the altar of DEI and ESG.
Southwest has separated its employees into two classes: those with the "desirable" diversity points, and those without.
Those that come with Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) brownie points are often given a lot of slack and wiggle room when it comes to the rules. In fact, back in 2017, Southwest used union money to fly employees to the Women's March in DC and even changed their work schedules to enable them to do so.
How does Southwest treat the other group -- especially if they are Conservative and/or Christian? One word: termination; and over the slightest infraction. This happened to Charlene Carter, who was terminated after voicing pro-life views to her union president. Five years later, Southwest Airlines will now have to pay Carter $5.3 million for violation of her free speech rights as an individual.
Instead of learning from its mistakes, Southwest Airlines is doubling down on its Woke DEI initiatives. Soon, Southwest Airlines won't have two classes of workers: instead Southwest will only have employees that fit their diverse worldview and please its Environmental Social and Governance masters.
Employees at Southwest are sick and tired of being treated as second-class citizens due to the company Wokeness. We must be ready as Texans and Americans to stand with Southwest's employees and stop Southwest Airlines' progressive agenda on the tarmac.
